The Inertia

A few years back, a group of Utah locals were living every snowboarder’s dream. Tucked away in Guardsman Pass, the dedicated crew had set up their own private park carved out of the very trees that surrounded them, along with the occasional metal rail for normalcy. It wasn’t just a jibbers delight either — they had scattered hips and jumps to mix it up from time to time. They called it the Bone Zone and it was the go to spot for Salt Lake City pros to warm up and avoid the crowds.

However, the dream was soon taken away from them; the Forest Service discovered it and destroyed the features. But now the dream is back.

Thanks to Alex Andrews and Ted Borland, the Bone Zone has been brought back to life with a new home at Brighton Resort.

With many locals lending a hand the team has been hard at work building new features to ride for when the first snowfall hits. The DIY park will be open to the public to hike before the lifts start running and will be located at the bottom of the mountain for easy access. All you have to do is sign a waiver and you can shred your heart out.

Keep up with the Bone Zone at Brighton by following them on Instagram.
