Ski BASE jumping is not everyone’s bag. I, for one, see the excitement but don’t really understand why you would choose to ski BASE faces when ski-able lines are available right around the corner — and if not around the corner then along another skin or bootpack. That being said, I am admittedly under-experienced in the way of BASE. Perhaps if I were more experienced and truly “got” what it was like, then I would be singing a different tune; I hope that one day soon I’ll be able to speak from that position of experience.
Anyway, this short film features Matthias Giraud, or Super Frenchie as he is so affectionately known, prepping and executing a ski BASE jump. And whatever your feelings on ski BASE jumping are, it looks like quite the experience to say the least.
