You probably know Jason Acuña as Wee Man, a mainstay on the show Jackass. After realizing that things in life were becoming a bit too complicated, he decided to do something drastic: sell it all, buy a van, and hit the road.
“I realized the more shit you have, the more issues you have,” he says in the video above. “I like being on the road, I love traveling, I was like, ‘I want to do something different.’ I needed a change in my life. I straight said ‘fuck it, I’m going to get a van. I’m going to live in it and do whatever the fuck I want.'”
He sold his house for a reported $2.3 million and found an architect in Arkansas who was selling a kitted-out 4×4 Mercedes Sprinter van. “Sold the house, sold the farm, this is it,” he says. It’s got everything a person needs to live comfortably. Shower, toilet, stove, sink, fridge, AC, a furnace that runs off the diesel, and a solar unit that could power your whole house.
Whether or not vanlife would be your cup of tea, everyone can appreciate the joys of a little simplicity—and living out of a van certainly does have that.
