Remember way back when when Laird wore snowboard boots and strapped into the first iteration of a hydro foil? Now, of course, it’s everywhere except your local break, and even there hydrofoiling is beginning to show up. The thing that sucks about it, much like SUPping, is that if the operator sucks (and all too often they don’t realize that they do), they can be pretty damn dangerous. Now, if you are a lake-dwelling person , you will remember the air chair. It’s a weird little thing that apparently takes a lot of practice, but once someone’s got it wired, there ain’t nothing more eye-popping than a guy flying around by the seat of his pants.
