Sharks have a really bad rep. That’s because they’re scary, Jaws was a great film, and people love to be scared. Sharks have evolved to be full on eating machines–nature’s perfect predator. But as much as everyone likes to think they are, they’re not really after US. They’re after a meal, because they’re sharks and they eat. These ones are tiger sharks, and they found a hell of a lot to eat off the coast of Western Australia recently.
The group of over 70 sharks was filmed as they devoured a dead whale. Onlookers, mostly tourists in boats, watched in awe as Eco Abrolhos, a tour company, filmed. Tiger sharks will eat pretty much anything, but it’s not clear whether they actually killed the whale. Either way, it’s an amazing show of nature at its goriest.
