In six years prior, no competitor had ever completed Stage 3 of Mt. Midoriyama. In fact, only 10 have even made it there. The final of this year’s American Ninja Warrior saw two worthy opponents square off on Stage 4.
Both professional rock climber-part time busboy Isaac Caldiero and full time sports cameraman Geoff “Popeye” Britten made it to and through Stage 3, and both successfully summited Stage 4 and Mt. Midoriyama (which turned out to be a really long rope). And while Marylander Britten was the first to complete the course, Coloradan Caldiero did it fastest.
The reward? Pride. And $1,000,000. Yep, $1,000,000. This is the new [One] Million Dollar Man.
