Seals are basically dogs of the sea. A seal pup, much like a dog pup, is the cutest thing in the world. So when rescuers found this tiny baby seal alone by the side of the road, it’s ok to assume they fell in love with him. He was, however, in pretty dire straits—born premature, he certainly would have died if left alone.
For months, volunteers worked around the clock, feeding him with a tube and keeping a watchful eye over him. As time went on, he showed signs of improvement and was eventually moved into a kennel with a bit more room. He began eating fish in a bathtub, then started to socialize with other seals, learning the important life skills that he needed. Then, when he was strong enough to fend for himself, those volunteers let him out into the wild blue yonder where, we hope, he’s living his best life.
