The story goes like this: film maker Johnny Abegg decided to throw himself into a rip with his camera in tow. He didn’t know what to expect but when he watched the footage he says he felt like he was drowning. Now imagine all the emotions that get packed into those frantic moments. So Abegg decided to make the eery and unthinkable into one uncomfortable, even frightful short film. In his words, he thought about what it would be like to be caught in a rip without any ocean knowledge. And this is the first person perspective of that experience.
Watch, preferably with headphones in order to get the full effect of the brooding sounds from underwater. And wear a sweatshirt or something in case you get the chills.
