There are a handful of things that are so kooky that they transcend “kooky” and arrive at a whole other level of kookiness that is somehow not kooky. (Yes, that sentence exists.) This 10-foot snowboard is one of those things.
You know when the likes of Terry Kidwell and John Jackson are getting in on the action, it’s worth a second look. So we watched this video a couple times, and let us tell you: while the engineering and design involved in crafting such a board is impressive, Signal team rider Ian Thorley might be the most exciting part of the entire edit. It’s already uncomfortable removing or adding half a foot — imagine two to three feet of extra wood, on each side. His jibbing is passable and the butters that start around the 6:45 mark are on point.
But, despite the seemingly successful run the board had on a rainy and icy opening day at Mammoth, we really hope this doesn’t become a trend…
