The Inertia

There’s no place like home. After an incredibly hectic travel schedule for the majority of the summer, both Brandon Davis and I were pretty stoked when we realized we were making the trek back to Mammoth Lakes, California. For me this was the first time in nearly eight years that I’ve gone to Mammoth in the summertime. For whatever reason, I have missed out on coming up and enjoying all the summer activities Mammoth has to offer even though I have lived there in the winter for those past eight seasons.

And let me tell you: it was nothing short of epic!

Mammoth

Morning tee times at Sierra Star, off-road adventures on the RZR, games of SKATE at Volcom Brothers park, and a last minute camping trip up to the cliffs behind the hot springs made up our action packed four day itinerary. Coming in with little to no expectations, I was so bummed I didn’t have more time to hang out and adventure. There are endless hikes, off-road trails, mountain biking, fishing, and a million other epic outdoor activities to enjoy.

On the last day we packed up our tent and headed back to the house to grab our bags before making our way to Southern California. It was a little bittersweet as we turned onto the 395 because I realized this was the last little bit of summer before we board a 15 hour flight to the other side of the world.

We are headed to Australia to begin yet another year of snowboarding and good times. We will also begin filming for our upcoming winter series which drops later this fall. Tune in August 30 for the finale of Over Yonder — and if you are getting antsy for some snowboarding, go check out The Mayhem Projects on Instagram for your daily dose of over the next couple of weeks!

Don’t forget to catch up on the Over Yonder series thus far:
