Ring of Fire is a series running on The Inertia thanks to filmer Nick Cahill and his team’s monumental efforts to snowboard as many of the volcanoes in the Pacific Northwest and Northern California as they can in 30 days, while road-tripping in Nick’s blue converted school bus. Episode six took us to Mount St. Helens with a rad crew to experience the iconic volcanic worm flows that were formed during the 1980 St. Helens’ eruption.

In episode seven, Amanda, Nick, Jaime, and Danny make their way to Rainier National Park where they find a mostly comfortable campsite outside of the park to prepare for their biggest climb yet. Rainier is a massive mountain, with the most glaciated terrain in the contiguous U.S. and lots of volcanic activity just below the surface. Venturing onto that glaciated terrain brings plenty of new skills, tools and mindsets into the picture for the team, and the first windy summit greets the group, making for a variable, albeit exciting, ride down.

Stay tuned, as we’ll be dropping the final episode this week, here on The Inertia.
