The Inertia

You’re no doubt familiar with the web-series Every Third Thursday that went on a bit of a hiatus several years ago. When the series was in full swing, the creative visionaries behind the show, including Dave Lee, co-founder of Signal Snowboards, made it their monthly project to make all manner of unconventional snowboards including one from cheap materials you could find at a local hardware store, an LED board, a fragile Italian glass snowboard, and more.

For followers of the show, like us, we’ve missed Lee and the crew at Signal’s presence on the web. But, thankfully this Christmas they unexpectedly announced that the series is back and the above is their first episode.

“We’ve missed you all so much!!” the video description explains. “It’s true, we’ve taken a bit of a hiatus to build out Signal’s Snowboard Membership Program. But with a few fresh ideas and the help of some close friends here at home, abroad and our homies at GoPro, ETT is back!!”

In this episode, the crew creates a snowboard with a removable tip and tail that can be modified on the spot to fit the rider’s needs – e.g. switching from a twin-tip to a powder-specific board in seconds. Here’s the scoop:

“Just for you this holiday season we’ve pieced a concept together quite literally. Snowboarders already have split boards, sure. But! What if you could turn a 150cm park board into a 160 powder board? Could you snap on a different tail? Or a big powder nose to go from a park shape to floating in powder. Off and on shape potential to make that dream shape for the right day? Much like this concept, remove your practical brain with us for a few minutes as we remove snowboard sections and test with a sick crew up at Boreal on some pretty harsh snow conditions.”

Welcome back ETT guys! Stoked to have you back!
