Video recently posted to YouTube on the page of one Tyler Howe shows a skier knock off a massive avalanche in an unnamed drainage just after a snowboarder rides the slope. There is little to no information posted about where the avalanche occurred, although we know the Americas recently experienced a third winter in late April and May that brought snow to much of the West.
“This looks good, eh,” says one rider with an accent.
Yeah, super good. Little bit crusty,” says another, also with an accent.
The skier then drops in and seemingly the entire slope releases.
Update: A reader sent us this video, letting us know that the footage is actually a couple seasons old. The skier was reportedly caught in the Pyrenees and was rescued. You can see the full video report below:
