If you were riding the chairlift at Mammoth Mountain on Thanksgiving, you might have been lucky enough to have a little something extra to be thankful for: an up-close-and-personal view of a bear and her cub.
The little family was up a tree right beside the lift right after the first big snowfall of the season, and they didn’t hang around for long. The cub was the more visible of the two, but if you look closely in the branches above, the momma bear is visible. After a little while, the pair climbed back down and ran off into the woods.
