The Inertia

This is the most literal way one might light up an ascent. And what are lights good for? Celebrations… and that is exactly what this was — a celebration of the American Safe Climbing Association (ASCA), “who has rebolted over 14,000 bolts across America and beyond over the last 18 years.”

The YouTube description continues: “On August 29, 2015 we placed 39 solar-powered LED lanterns temporarily up the Snake Dike route on Yosemite’s Half Dome. Red lights went on all of the bolts and anchors, while the white lights illuminated the rest of the route. The light show only lasted around five hours as we cleaned the route on the rappel down.”

Cool.
