A few years ago, Wavestorms were… well, Wavestorms were not cool. Then, someone realized that soft boards were still very fun. Since anything that you can slide around on a wave on is fun, it made sense. Soon, it became totally okay to ride a soft-top and people pushed them to their limits. It was a common sight to see one snapped in half in a beach garbage can, used a handful of times then simply hucked in the trash. Soon, other board makers were getting in on the action. Soft-tops began to evolve from a flat piece of foam with plastic fins on the bottom into real deal high-performance sleds. Hell, even Pyzel, maker of some of the finest performance boards in the world, has a line. Watch above as he and John John Florence walk us through the merits of the “Funformance” lineup.
