The Inertia

“There’s no such thing as too much power.” – Wolfgang Güllich

There are those climbers whose reputations are defined by raw potential, and those who are preceded by a documented record of success. Kevin Jorgeson is both, the latter most recently supported by his first free climb of the Dawn Wall alongside contemporary Tommy Caldwell. But even Jorgeson realizes that pure talent isn’t enough to realize the sort of success he has so far, or plans to in the near and far future; therefore, he heads to training facilities such as the world renowned climbing gym Café Kraft to increase both ability and overall power, as seen in the video above. The truly incredible part of this video is that Gimme Kraft! coach/drill master Patrick Matros gets Jorgeson to heartily struggle on a few of the exercises and really sweat.

Sure… this video isn’t all that instructional, but you get a glimpse of what sorts of isolations they do, and general areas of focus. There are a lot more of these glimpses on their Vimeo page, so head on over there for a more comprehensive overview.
