Ring of Fire is a series we’ve been proud to run here on The Inertia thanks to filmer Nick Cahill and friends, and their mission to tackle as many of the volcanoes in the Pacific Northwest and Northern California as they can in 30 days, while road tripping in Nick’s blue converted school bus. Episode three took us to the summit of Mt. Bachelor and North Sister in Oregon, with a couple of tense and scary moments as some inbounds fun led to a nasty fall, forcing Tailer to sit on the bench while Nick and Danny sweated it out on North Sister.
In the fourth episode, the team is back together, for now. Danny, Nick, and Tailer connect with a few friends to do an up and over on Mt. Hood, another ski resort on a volcano, and the northernmost volcano in Oregon. “It was the sketchiest climb we’ve had just because there were so many hazardous people climbing up,” says Tailer. After riding down more vertical feet than they climbed, the three find a spot in the Mount Hood rainforest to set up camp and take a well-deserved rest day. Meanwhile, a mandatory doctor’s visit for Tailer leaves her wondering if continuing with the project is in fact the right choice.
Stay tuned, as we’ll be dropping the rest of the episodes on a bi-weekly basis, here on The Inertia.
