G.R. Tarr is a lifelong free diving spearfisherman who hails from St Petersburg, FL. Diving since the age of five, G.R. has traveled and pursued a wide variety of fish across the globe. In his pursuits, he found a need to create spearfishing gear that matched his addiction, thus, Red Tide Spearfishing was born. To this day, G.R. dives every Sunday, taking friends, testing product — with the focus of having fun and being safe.
The west coast of Florida provides incredible grounds for spearfishing: shipwrecks, bottom structure, marine biodiversity, and year-round water clarity creates one of the largest diving hubs in the world. Considered the Hawaii of spearfishing for the mainland, Tampa Bay and its greater area provide a huge diversity of species to hunt. For G.R. and his Red Tide dive team, its all about good times, being respectful, and laying the groundwork of responsibility for the future generation of divers to come.
