Wally the whale made a real nuisance of herself. Her body did, anyway. After the dead humpback washed up at Dockweiler Beach in Los Angeles (just a few days before Independence Day, no less), she was dragged out to sea. That wasn’t the last of it, though. She ended up washing ashore six more times over the course of the next few weeks, driven by winds and currents.
Her last appearance was at Grandview Beach in Encinitas, where workers had the horrendous job of chopping her apart and setting the parts out to sea, where hopefully, nature takes care of them. The timelapse above is as interesting as it is gruesome.
