The rule? Wait 24 hours after a fresh snowfall, especially in avalanche prone areas. Gigi Rüf knows this. But Gigi and company were anxious to get on the mountain and capture that footage they had been after for awhile, so they ignored the rule. In doing so, Gigi found himself in something of a mess.
Nope. That is definitely not where you want to be.
Thank the snow gods that he had an airbag pack on. If we survived that sweep, we would have collapsed in relief as well.
