The Inertia

This is a very large fish. And you know what crazy? It’s not that large, at least for what it is. Goliath groupers have been known to weigh up to 800 pounds. That’s like a silverback gorilla that can swim, only with less hair and a severely diminished tree-swinging ability.

While goliath groupers really aren’t any danger to humans, they will pretty much take what ever they want, like that fat bully that shoves kids into lockers and takes their money, then goes home and cries because he’s lonely. But in this case, they’re not lonely – when goliath groupers spawn, they do it in large numbers, all floating around being gigantic and looking for crabs and lobsters to eat.

This huge fish saw something that he wanted when a diver was spearfishing off Jupiter, Florida. “Gimme that fish!” he said. When the diver refused, he gave him a taste of his strength by tasting his foot. Then he took the fish, spear and all. According to the diver, he found his spear a little later on, with no fish attached.
