The Inertia

In 2016, Danny MacAskill dropped a video called Wee Day Out. It blew up the internet. With over 30 million views, it became one of those films that nearly everyone saw. And for good reason: MacAskill did things on a bike in Wee Day Out that seemed as though they should have been impossible. Touring through Edinburgh, Scotland, the filmmakers wanted to capture a simple, fun ride in the country, except with MacAskill at the wheel. Like any good film, though, the final product was the result of a whole lot of hard work. And now, all these years later, Red Bull decided it was time to show how it was made. From filling his tires with water, wearing a backpack full of rocks, and doing impossible tricks over and over again, it’s a look into just how difficult it is to make a film like Wee Day Out.
