The Inertia

Alaska is known for its steep and spiny terrain, and The Sphinx in Cordova, Alaska is no exception. Three years ago in the first season of The FIFTY Project, Cody and the crew attempted The Sphinx, but were turned around before reaching the top by gnarly hardpack conditions. Last April, the conditions were right after a late-season storm dumped three feet of powder on the region. So the day after tackling “7 Steps to Paradise” on Rogers Pass, British Columbia, Cody, Nick Russell and friends booked it to Alaska to try and win back the line that got away. The result? Steep powdery goodness.
