Holy gene pool. Even on an Off Day, the talent of Angel and Johnny Collinson is obvious. And that is exactly what we get to see as Vice Sports follows them to their cabin near Snowbird, a structure — known as the Collinson Complex — that they built themselves… by watching Youtube videos.
The Collinsons are not competitive, but they know how to push each other, and recognize when the other isn’t pulling their weight. That special dynamic, mixed with a childhood living out of a small apartment in Snowbird during the winter and a van wherever during the summer produced one of the most (if not simply the most) successful brother-sister duos in skiing.
Angel and Johnny resisted going to school in the canyon so they could continue their home-schooling and keep living the dream in the mountains. Needless to say it paid off. Johnny went on to become the youngest person to ever climb Mount Everest. And he skis well — really really well. As for Angel? She not only starred in the opening segment of TGR’s most recent film Almost Ablaze, but won the freeski world tour before she could legally drink.
