At one point or another, every surfer has felt a twinge of envy for skaters. Unhampered by the need for swell, they can practice their art pretty much whenever and wherever they feel like it.
On top of that, they also have skate parks – arenas perfectly tailored to their needs that are open year round. Sure, the advent of the wave pool has closed that gap a little, but they’re fewer and farther between. We also have to pay significantly more than our wheeled brethren to make use of them.
Recently, though, Dutch skimboarder Adrien Raza got a taste of how the other side lives. We’ve already seen him bridging the gap between ocean and landlocked board sports with urban skimboarding, but his latest adventure took him to a flooded skate park. There he was joined by Dutch skater Sterre Meijer for a session that tested both their skills and the durability of their boards.
“Whenever indoor skatepark Waalhalla needs a deep clean they call us for a 2-in-1 skim and wipe session!” wrote Raza on Instagram. “I’m available worldwide for this service!”
