It can’t be still,” writes Pablo Neruda. And listening to the unadulterated sound of waves lapping the shoreline might be the perfect environment to get your creative juices flowing, or immerse yourself in a good book.
Now imagine a library predisposed to amplify the magic of the sea, offering a silent space for bibliophiles and thalassophiles alike. Chinese designers, Vector Architects, recently brought their vision for such a place to life in the small seaside community of Qinhuangdao east of Beijing, which they call the Seashore Library.
