The Inertia

Extreme practices in high-risk sports like BASE jumping and wingsuit flying have now reached their limits, especially when practitioners have outgrown those limits as well. We can only deplore the excessive number of deaths over the last two years of these athletes, pushed to excess by an economic model that has transformed them into gladiators of modern times. Vincere aut Mori (translated from Latin to “conquer or die”) wingsuit pilots, BASE jumpers and speed flyers have gone from a circus show to an arena show. It is why the artistic dimension must take precedence over the inflation of risk through videos.

So it seems an opportune time to set aside the raw videos and concentrate on the real productions that give a sense and an emotion to the viewer, inviting them into the lifestyle and personalities instead of just giving them straight thrills.

Follow the Leader, as well as my other videos have been created in this spirit.

Just so you know who you’re watching, here are two top speedflying pilots that share with us their passions and pleasure in my videos. These two pilots are particularly experienced and trained. They perfectly master their runs, and above all, maintain a margin of safety. And they like to fly together.:

Joseph Innes (England, 24 years old) has a nervous, aggressive and agile piloting style. He flies down the slopes of the Brevent in Chamonix (France) with a surgical precision.

Max Toeldte (American, 22 years old) is a precise, efficient and fast pilot. He shows us his pursuit skills with high-quality images, the framing of which can leave one speechless.

Here is a bonus piece with Joseph Innes as well :
