By now you’ve seen “that wave” Billy Kemper got at Jaws. It’s funny, though. A lot of the time with waves that get the “that wave” treatment, we only see exactly that wave. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a few short seconds of glory. Oh, and it is glorious glory, to be sure, but as with anything worth doing, there’s often a whole lot of preparation that goes into it. In Billy’s case, it’s years of dedication to Peahi. Nathan Florence, that ever-smiling ray of not-so-serious in a world of way-too-serious, give us 25 minutes of what goes into a session where “that wave” is possible. For those with short attention spans and a dislike of funny banter, the surfing starts at about the 9-minute mark.
