Jaleesa Vincent has a sort of feverish, DIY creative energy that’s unmatched in the surfing world. For her 2022 edit “Macaroni in the Pot,” she went to Macaroni’s in the Mentawai Islands and carved the absolute bejesus out of a bunch of lefts. However, the wild part is that she also directed the video, animated the interstitials, rode boards from her own label (the excellently named Pussy Surfboards) and scored the video with music from her band Cupid and the Stupids. She truly is a one-women show.
Things got stripped down a bit for a recent edit posted by Fun Boys Entertainment Systems on YouTube, but the product is no less entertaining. We once again see Jaleesa stylishly slash wave after wave, this time to a dreamy electro-pop soundtrack by Topaz White. Never stop, never change, Jaleesa.
