With an early northwest swell, Maverick’s came to life this week. No it wasn’t huge, but it was still enough swell to light up the big wave locale near Half Moon Bay. That’s why I thought this video was probably appropriate to run from the Mavericks Surf Awards (notice they omit the apostrophe).
The Mavericks Surf Awards has followed the action closely there the last few years and provided video awards and a festival highlighting the chargers that put their life on the line out there every session. Well, the MSA just released this highlight, or low-light if you will, from last year. It’s a rundown of some of the biggest wipeouts caught on video. We’re fairly positive there were other big wipeouts, of course, but these were the ones documented on film. Here’s to the start of a new PACNW season.
