The Inertia

Winter Storm Grayson was/is a real doozy. “Winter Storm Grayson blasts America with historic cold!” read the headlines. “Storm Grayson batters America as temperatures plummet to -36F!” Of course, as is the case with any good storm, there were waves to be had. Cold waves. Messy waves. But waves nonetheless. “When the air is 5 and the water is 42 and the waves are pretty good,” was the simple explanation on Vimeo from filmmaker Jeffrey O’Neill.

“Pretty good” is sort of a relative term, at least in the case of the video you see above. Yes, there are thick-lipped, spitting tubes to be had, but there are also horrible beatings and very bad cases of brain-freeze. Worth it? Worth it!
