Stoke-o-Rama… The name says it all. “It’s a surf celebration for kids,” said contest coordinator, Dane Gudauskas, during last year’s event. “The camaraderie is getting tighter, the kids encourage each other, friendships are made, and it’s cool to see the community come together.” Well, the community is really coming together for this year’s 4th Annual Stoke-o-Rama, as the City Council has agreed to dish out some stoke of their own.
Following last year’s success, the San Clemente City Council has generously agreed to waive $1,800 in permit fees during the event, which will be put on by Vans and the Gudauskas brothers on October 24th at T-Street.
Last year, the event hosted 100 surfers and successfully raised $12,500 for San Clemente’s Lifeguard and Junior Lifeguard Foundation. Thanks to the City Council, Vans, the Gudauskas brothers, and everyone who has made possible such an amazing event. If you’re in the area, stop by or click here to see how you can get involved.
