All hail the Powerfish. The lucha libre-masked agent of chaos is known for his unhinged prank videos that often involve throwing raw chickens at people for some reason. He’s hidden in a boat to attack would-be thieves, laid siege to anglers, driven a car off a boat ramp, and now he’s here to show surfers the future of the sport, whether they like it or not.
This is not the Powerfish’s first time tangling with the wave-riding tribe. In his first “Surf Sessions” video, he laid waste to lineups by cutting people off on a bodyboard and hucking a massive yellow foam board in their path. Then he came back for a second go around on massive inflatable pool toys. However, those crude implements of destruction are now a thing of the past, as the Powerfish has entered the space age.
“Everyone hates surfers, and so do I,” he says, standing next to a bright-red contraption that looks like something from Thunderball. “They’re still living in the past. We’re in 2023 and they’re still riding planks of wood…So I’m here today to show these local surfers at their break the future of surfing.”
It turns out the device is a powered underwater scooter called a Seabob. Essentially a miniature Jet Ski operated by holding on to the sides for dear life, the Powerfish wields it like Rembrandt does a paintbrush. His artistry earns the awe and respect of the onlooking surfers, who splash and yell at him as a sign of respect for his prowess.
The future is here, and it is magnificent.
