This very rare and inconsistent wave is located in Southern Germany, in Bavaria. Only one percent of the year it’s working. That’s only four to five times a year! Because of the fast changing water level it only works for a few hours (usually about five hours when it’s really on). It needs strong rains for a couple of days. Or in this case in February, heavy rainfall combined with melting water from the mountains created this session.
WARNING: Just for those who know the spot very well, it’s very dangerous because of floating trees and other treacherous debris, with very strong currents and whirls behind. Strictly nothing for beginners. And, it has only been surfed by locals so far.
We do keep the spot a secret, but it´s so beautiful that everybody should be part of it! The risk of opening the spot to everybody is low because it just exists for some hours when its on.
Surfers: Manuel Stecher, Mario Stecher, Linus Reulein, and Moritz Reulein.
