I never imagined I’d be getting myself into a full on real surf trip by going just a few hours North of my home in New Jersey. I saw a small 2-3 ft swell approaching one of my favorite little spots up there and called a friend for confirmation. After a quick talk I was in the car, ready to spend the weekend surfing a “fun” sized swell with some beautiful weather. However the night I arrived a new low pressure system had formed that was gearing up to send some excellent overhead surf just a few hours away. Naturally, we packed our car and were on our way.
