The Titans of Mavericks opening ceremony kicks off the waiting period for the annual big wave contest. Photos are taken, a circle made in the lineup, people splash around and hoot, and then copious amounts of alcohol are consumed. I attended the event to ask awkward questions and video the happenings.
The real question is now that the waiting period started in October instead of January, will there even be a contest this year?
