With lines out the back, a boat pulled this sketchy highline at the J-Bay Open today, scaring the hell out of competitors in the lineup, but apparently not the commentators. Peter Mel loved it. Thought they should have been in the throwback demonstration earlier in the event. But with one word, Ronnie Blakey did get it right: sketchy. The question is, what was a boat doing that close to the lineup? J-Bay has been kind of a shit-show, with locals packing the lineup because of the quality swell (Kolohe Andino had a boogie boarder drop in on him, closing his exit to a barrel and essentially ending his event). According to the WSL website, this was apparently a safety boat that got caught inside.
