The 2024 SLO CAL Open Pismo Beach is currently live at Pismo Beach Pier. In the WSL North America Qualifying Series event, competitors are vying for 3,000 QS points to go towards qualification for the 2024 Challenger Series. Among the favorites going into the event are the top-ranked Zoe Benedetto and Levi Slawson. In the North America QS rankings, Slawson just barely leads a close top four that has broken away from the rest of the pack. Meanwhile, the women’s category is an also a tight race, with Kirra Pinkerton a mere 120 points behind the number one spot, with Sawyer Lindblad not far behind.

The event also marks be beginning of the 2024 Pro Junior season. Among the competitors are 2023 North America Pro Junior champions Talia Swindal and Reed Platenius. Both surfers had exceptional 2023 seasons and are hoping to back it up with another victory. For Platenius, who surfs out of Tofino, British Columbia, this will be last dance in the category before he ages out.
The SLO CAL Open Pismo Beach will run from January 22-28.
