It was right under our noses. A sleeping giant, hidden in the heart of Europe. For too long, Portugal has remained the surfing version of Europe’s final frontier – overlooked by other hotspots on the continent like the south of France and Spain’s Basque country. But the ignorance is over. With pumping beachbreaks like Supertubos and the XXL discovery of Nazaré, Portugal is now on the map.
A full year in the making, a new edit from Máquina Voadora Produções shows Portugal’s bounteous waves from a bird’s eye view. The drone footage features lime green barrels, punchy beachbreaks and, of course, Ross Clarke-Jones and Garret McNamara tackling some giants out at Nazaré. Ladies and gents, this is surf porn at its finest.
