Things haven’t exactly gone as planned for John John Florence this year. He started off 2015 winning the Volcom Pipe Pro, which followed a red hot finish to the 2014 tour. So it wasn’t a big stretch to expect Florence to continue that run into the 2015 WSL’s Championship Tour. He opened up the season placing 13th twice and most recently withdrew from the Fiji Pro. It’s all added up to a 12th place standing halfway through the year.
But aside from all that, if you were worried that the unfavorable tour results meant John John’s surfing was somehow slipping then worry no more. When The Tour took to Margaret River something clearly clicked for Florence and he posted a second place finish. This video is solid proof that runner-up result wasn’t a fluke.
