Jacob Szekely starts off his latest video in an enviable position: posted up at the Off The Wall entrance of Pipe, choosing between Rocky Point and Pipeline. Standing there, nestled in between the Rip Curl and Billabong houses, he has a vista of some of the best surf in the world. There’s really no wrong decision to make and, in the end, he doesn’t make one. “The plan is to go get a quick session at Rocky Point and then back to Pipeline for an all-time mid-day to afternoon session,” he says. Time for the best of both worlds.
After Szekely and co. grab their fair share of barrels and airs at Rocky Point, he goes through a quick quiver rundown then jets off to Pipe. True to form, Pipeline was going off. Zeke traded playful airs for nail biting drops, along with a star-studded lineup that included John John Florence, Ivan Florence, Mikey Wright, Al Cleland, Jamie O’Brien, and seemingly every other North Shore ripper. Sometimes the right choice is no choice.
