January has been a good month for Pipe. Last week, we saw an epic day that was packed with pros in town for the upcoming Pipe Pro. Italo Ferreira, Mason Ho, Billy Kemper and many more were all in attendance and it was more than enough to get us amped up for the upcoming start of the Championship Tour season.
Now, from YouTube channel Off Da Lip, comes a clip that focuses on the talents of one pro in particular: Gabriel Medina.
“Leading up to the first stop of the ’24 WSL Tour, several epic swells hit the north shore. Most of the pros were out this day, but Gabriel Medina was a step above,” wrote Off Da Lip in the video caption. “Quick, sharp, and smooth; Medina navigated the Pipe tubes like it was just another day at the office.”
As we all undoubtedly know, pipeline excellence is nothing new for Medina. However, footage of him in this good form on the eve of the season opener brings with it the promise of a few more additions to his highlight reel.
