What would a Pipeline team competition be without a gaggle of Florences in the lineup? It’s a question we don’t really have an answer to, because it keeps on happening. In December, John John, Nathan and Ivan found themselves head to head in one heat at the Vans Pipe Masters. This time, the Florences are back in the water at the Da Hui Backdoor Shootout. The event is now on day four, but Nathan Florence just posted an edit from earlier on in the competition.
Thanks to the Backdoor Shootout’s unique team format, the brothers are actually on the same side this time. Instead of duking it out against each other, they banded together to battle the elements. As commenters on YouTube chimed in (and Nathan agreed), conditions were suboptimal for team Florence’s heats. However, the show must go on, and luckily Pipeline is the perfect venue to put on a show.
