California is getting rocked by a massive swell. The entire state is seeing high surf, but Northern California is bearing the brunt of the incoming surge. The conditions have triggered flood and evacuation warnings for many areas and the National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Warning for the Central and Northern California coastline that is in effect until 3 a.m. Friday.
As a result, Maverick’s has been insane. Throughout it all, surf filmer Tucker Wooding has been on the front lines, posting updates to his social media. In his latest clip, big wave charger Bianca Valenti starts off screaming down an absolute terror of a wave. She goes briefly airborne, just long enough to lose balance and gets sent skipping down the face. There’s a glimpse of her getting sucked over the falls, before she disappears into the crushing emerald depths. Hopefully she’s okay, because that was certainly one for the books.
