The Duke’s OceanFest in Waikiki is officially back. The event began 20 years ago and is in honor of Duke Kahanamoku’s birthday anniversary on August. Duke’s OceanFest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission, in conjunction with the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation, is to provide resources to help enrich the lives of Hawaii’s scholar athletes.
The Duke Oceanfest kicked off on Saturday, August 20 and will run for eight days. Events include a longboard contest, ocean swim, a paddleboard race, a dog surf competition, an adaptive surf event, surfboard water polo, foil surfing, beach volleyball, and much more. Head to the beach, hop online, or sign up for an event to make the most of the weeklong event.
