The Joske’s seem to have salt flowing through their veins. Paul and Jenny started Valla Surfboards as a way to facilitate Paul’s need to surf, and built a career of creating custom boards with a focus on the traditional roots of surfing. Eldest son Sage spent a number of years chasing the WQS circuit, before returning home to continue Valla alongside Paul, while Heath continues his climb up the WQS ranking having recently won the ISA China Cup (01/12).
I spent a week with the Joske’s to find out what the ocean means to them.
