Uluwatu surfing

Big enough for the tow boards, it seems. Photo: YouTube//Screenshot

The Inertia

It’s kind of rare to get a long period swell in October in Indonesia, but this October decided it would give it a shot. On October 16th, Uluwatu got very big and very heavy. It wasn’t perfect by any means, but for those who managed to find a wave, it was well worth it.

“The morning started slow,” wrote Surf Raw Files. “Sets were rare, mostly Outside Corner was breaking for the Jet ski guys.”

As the morning wore on, the swell picked up in size, and things started to break outside.

“Around 11:00 the bombie started to work as well, with only a few surfers out there,” Surf Raw Files continued. “Wind picked up as well, so it was bumpy rides for the lucky ones who manage to get a bomb!”
