The Inertia

In mid-September, Bali was graced with one of the biggest swells of the year. It was a welcome bump, since the last little while has been quieter than average, wave-wise. “We didn’t really get any huge swells this Indo dry season,” wrote Global Zoo on YouTube, “so it was nice to get some fairly solid waves before it ends soon.”

And of all the places on Bali when a good swell rolls though, Uluwatu might be considered the best. It got pretty big on September 15 — not as big as we’ve ever seen it — but pretty dang big nonetheless. The crowd was thin-ish, at least by Uluwatu standards, and the waves were absolutely pumping.
