Over the years, we’ve seen craftsmen, experimenters, and tinkerers construct surfboards from a whole host of materials. Among them, cardboard, broken skateboards, and even discarded cigarette butts. This may, however, be the most creative use of duct tape we’ve ever seen.
UK vlogger Jack Atlantic decided to make a surfboard entirely out of wood and duct tape, as he explains in the video, for his sponsor Protest Sportswear’s Prepare to Get There campaign. After one false start, Jack figures out a way to incorporate rocker and mount a fin on this bad boy and turns out not only does it float, it actually goes alright. No indication here how much this cost Jack to make, but if we had to guess it couldn’t be more than, say, fifty bucks. In other words, if you found yourself without a board and were hurting to get in the water somewhere, a fifty and some elbow grease and a little creativity might be just enough to get you out there.
